Admittedly trying to find a good game on the Android Market sucks beyond the telling of it. If you're a gamer and trying to find something good to play, you're relegated to what's on the front page. Not a lot of us game media sites are big on reviewing games from the Android/Mobile market, but we do try. We are also stuck with trying to find good games via the front page or having to wait until a gem lands in our email box.
Thank the gaming goddesses for the Hooked App! Problem solved.
Stuck at yet another family function I sat down with my phone and looked for something to play via the Android market before I remembered Hooked. After waiting for it to DL I found myself VERY impressed.
Allowed to login using your FB or Google plus account which makes life easy when signing up on a mobile phone.
The main dashboard is easy to understand and is remeniscent of the original XBL interface. You can either select a game recommended to you by Hooked, use the discover feature to find something new and different, search for a specific game or go straight to games you've downloaded.
Below that you'll have option to quickly rate any games you've played with a simple thumbs up or down, and the app keeps track of games you've rated so you don't download a horrible game again.
Don't have a lot of space on your phone, but want to mark a game to come back to later? Well you can do so with hooked. You'll easily be able to access those and download them for play later! It also keeps track of the number of hours you've spent on a game.
The app also gives you quizzes, which I believe determines the types of games it recommends to you in the future.
All in all this is definitely the darling of apps and a must have for gamers looking to find something to play via Android. It organizes the whole process and doesn't have the crazy wild west feel of the app store and actually makes you WANT to play. Social media integration is also a plus here, as you can The only thing we'd say is missing is a way to readily see a games ESRB rating..oops we forgot Android and Apple think they are above ratings. So we'll rate Hooked ourselves. E for Excellent App!
