Miss Ashley met with two gents in her local McDonalds who told her they’d bought several iPads at cost and would let them go at a mere $300.00 and asked if she was interested.Miss Ashley,informed the gentlemen that she didn’t have that amount but gosh she sure would like an iPad.All she had was $180.They took pity on the poor youth and accepted her meager offering and presented her with a closed Fed Ex box.Miss Ashley likely tweeted and FB’ed her find and rushed home to tear open the box and play with her new toy.Much to her chagrin she found a wooden block inside…
While Tech Crunch is scoffing at Gawker for taking the low road and saying this is a well deserved punishment for the girl, and Tech Crunch is trying to take the high road, we’ll take the middle road. The middle road is to point and laugh and say “Girl…you got taken.But if let us know if you need back up…somebody hold our earrings!”
But just as an added note.The same rules apply to strangers with candy as it does to strangers with iPads.Just don’t take it.Buy your iPad from a reputable dealer, as the saying goes, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
