One of the fun things about playing iPad games is seeing what innovating ways they implement game play features. The iPad has so much potential to do some amazing things you almost expect every game to be a lesson in just how amazing gaming on the iPad can be. iShot:Pirates however, is not a lesson in “amazing” but more one of those games that leaves you scratching your head asking, “What just happened here?”

Once the game started I was more than impressed with the music and even the opening splash screen. I was expecting some pirate antics in the form of sinking a ship or anything but what I saw. After a very brief tutorial explaining how to fire and reload your gun a grisly pirate face appears with a big red reticule.Once the round starts the reticule moves all over the screen and your job is to tap the screen at just the right moment to shoot the pirate somewhere in the face.Certain spots of course earn you more points, while other do not, and you’ll have to shake the iPad to reload. And that ladies, is all there is to it.See..now you’re there scratching your head too.I was really quite saddened that there was not MUCH more to this game, and I even played it a few times to be sure that there wasn’t more, but there just isn’t. Johnny Depp would feel is image was besmirched, because as we know, he speaks for the pirate community at large. As it were, after playing iShot:Pirates , all I could say was “Arrrh!” and try not to throw my iPad across the room.
