In the news of the “Stupid and disgusting” yesterday we have a pair of law crossed lovers, bad parents and some how World of Warcraft. An 18 year old man with no morals and 12 year old girl with bad parents, who met in the online game of World of Warcraft. Alex Trowell is the 18 year old man in question accused of enticing a minor, lewd contact, and kidnapping.

Here is where the story get's really odd. It seems the child's mother knew about Alex Trowell, knew his intent but just couldn't find a way to keep the two apart. She says she'd tried and failed to keep Trowell away from her daughter for 8 months. You'd think they must live in the same neighborhood or town, but nope, they don't even live in the same state. The two began their relationship in the online game of World of Warcraft before moving on to sexting and plans to meet out of game.

Trowell drove from his home in Nampa Idaho to New Mexico to visit the child before someone informed a APD officer who convinced Trowell to turn around. Knowing the police were involved did not stop Trowell from his pursuit. Trowll found that the girl could travel on United Airlines without parental consent he sent her an airline ticket. When her mother discovered the child's disappearance she called the police who found her with Trowell. Seems the two were going to live in an abandoned house next to his parents, because that's what true love is, right? Ick.

Luckily the police found her before the pair had sex, though they had apparently fooled around. The child's mother is of course blaming this in World of Warcraft, cell phone use and everything else she can without owning the blame herself. It's apparently too much to ask for a parent to actually parent their children. Luckily, the girl is now in a safe house and Trowell is being held without bond. Let's hope that foster homes are better for this girl than her actual parents are.
