SEATTLE – Jan. 5, 2011 – Everyone questions the meaning of existence, even 8-bit characters in a video game.PATV is bringing the existential journey of Ledo and Ix to its 2011 lineup.
Most of us are intimately familiar with the activities of our video game alter-egos during their most exciting boss fights.But what they do when we're not around?What if they bicker like we do, dream like we do, feel boredom and dread like we do?
Trapped in a fantasy adventure game on the most primitive of game systems, Ledo and Ix are forced to confront an environment that’s often horribly, humorously bleak. They’re forced to do repetitive and pointless tasks while enduring an existence infested with clichés. All are handled with a great deal of humor, poignancy, and undercover profundity.
“At its surface this is a comedy that every fan of 8bit RPGs will be able to appreciate, but then you realize how much more is going on,” explained Robert Khoo of Penny Arcade.“Ledo and Ix ingeniously uses video game archetypes and tropes to create humor while exploring the very human need to make sense of an insane world.”
The Adventures of Ledo and Ix was created by production company Kid Can Drive.The series was written and directed by Emily Carmichael and produced by Josh Hetzler.
